Destroyer of light bizarre tales: vol 2

“We took a different approach to Chamber of Horrors the likes of which we hadn’t done before. After we wrote the songs, we did pre-production with our engineer, Matt Meli, and sat on it to make sure we were happy with the results before we actually recorded it. After that, we did a six day Texas Tour where we played the whole album front to back because we found that when we play the songs live, they take a different shape and add a different lick, drum fill, or riff. So, after that, we recorded the album live at Orb Recording Studios with Matt Meli in Austin, TX. Over-dubbed the guitars, did the vocals, added more bells and whistles…and there you have it. Chamber of Horrors.”

At the start of the 21st century, destroyers are the global standard for surface combatant ships, with only two nations ( United States and Russia ) operating the heavier class cruisers , with no battleships or true battlecruisers remaining. [3] Modern destroyers, also known as guided missile destroyers , are equivalent in tonnage but vastly superior in firepower to cruisers of the World War II era, and are capable of carrying nuclear tipped cruise missiles . At 510 feet (160 m) long, a displacement of 9200 tons, and with armament of more than 90 missiles, [4] guided missile destroyers such as the Arleigh Burke class are actually larger and more heavily armed than most previous ships classified as guided missile cruisers.

The T40 was the T24 prototype rebuilt by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1941 on the M3 Lee chassis. The Japanese declaration of war against the US caused the US Army, in need of a tank destroyer, to issue a 1,000 vehicle production license under the designation M9 in December, 1941. However, the project was terminated in August 1942. As well as doubts in the Ordnance Board about the design, the Tank Destroyer Board felt that the vehicle was too slow and there were only about 30 M1918 guns available to produce the vehicle. [1]
